A Distinct Approach

Empowering clients through personal and physical experiences

Our specialty is using our client’s experiences with the horses to drive change. Working with horses is engaging, real-time and hands-on. It’s an experience that is immediate and fully felt. People typically learn best by doing and life lessons take deeper root when individuals both understand them in their heads and experience them in their bodies.

The hands-on nature of working with a horse gets you out of your head and into your heart where healing can begin.

We offer a variety of formats including individual and group therapy, family sessions, team building workshops, corporate events, couples counseling, summer camps, and life skills courses.

Horses have a natural ability to sense, and reflect, feelings and/or emotions a person is experiencing.

About the EAGALA Model

No. This model of equine therapy is all ground-based. The EAGALA model we use believes clients get a more authentic experience when a horse is free to be a horse without a human directing their movements under saddle. A horse under saddle will respond much differently than a horse that is free to be a mirror and teacher.
Our team’s number one goal always is safety. With that being said when working with horses it is important to be alert and aware. Sometimes it takes a nibble to wake someone up to see the reality of their life and choices. We always watch for safety concerns but we also trust that the horses and clients can take care of themselves.

Any horse can be used for equine therapy. It does not matter what size, gender, breed or age the horse is. Training has nothing to do with our therapeutic model as they are acting as mirrors for you. What you see in them is what you are bringing to the table. There is no right or wrong way out at the ranch.

Each group or individual session is facilitated by two qualified persons. One person is a mental health professional and the other is an equine specialist. We work together to help clients achieve their best outcomes. You are also provided many different animals to work with and being outdoors adds it’s own therapeutic component as well.
Horses are social creatures that enjoy human interaction. Through equine therapy sessions, the horses are able to have the freedom to interact and respond as they choose.
Yes. Some of the horses have come from rescue situations. Others have not. We have a wide variety of equine personalities and backgrounds.

“There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.”
Winston Churchill • Quote of the Day
“There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly defeat age.”
